Volunteer Sign-Up for NACSW-Sanctioned Nose Work Trial

Please keep in mind that you cannot volunteer on the day you are a competitor in the trial. Please dress comfortably and appropriately for working outdoors or indoors.

Note: The vehicle must not have had odor on it during the four weeks prior to the trial. There is a chance dogs will jump or paw at the vehicle. Please do not volunteer your vehicle if this concerns you. We cannot reimburse for damages.

Trial Descriptions:

Timer: Use a stopwatch to time dogs during their run.
Judge's Steward: Remind competitors of the rules before they come to the start line, ensure that score sheets are filled out by judge, pass score sheets to score runner, assist in the competition area as needed.
Gate Steward: Make sure the "on deck" team is ready and help manage traffic flow to and from the parking and/or crating areas.
Score Runner: Take score sheets from the Judge's Steward or Judge to the score room. Sheets will need to be delivered to the score room every 5 dogs or so.
Videographer: Video each team for NACSW™ records.
Box Setter: Check, clean up and reset boxes/containers after each run during the Container search element.
Score Keeper: Enter score results into computer.
Registration/Competitor Check-In: Check in competitors as they arrive, direct them to appropriate parking and/or crating area, inform them of any site rules and answer questions.
Parking: Direct competitors to appropriate parking spot.
Hospitality: Set up snacks and drinks, breakfast and lunch, and clean up
